I "Heart" You

Supplies:
4.75*6.75 printed alphabet with a heart replacing the "O"
5*7 white cardstock card base
Art Glitter #4 Berry Glitter
Art Glitter dries clear adhesive
Double sided tape

I created this printed alphabet using the Silhouette studio software, but this could be easily created using a word program and hand cutting if you do not have a Cameo.  The hearts were also printed and cut from silhouette studio, but a punch could be substituted.

Use Art Glitter dries clear adhesive on the I and U and then apply Berry Glitter.  For the heart I glittered a separate cut out then layered it on with foam adhesive to add dimension.

Apply 1/2 inch wide double sided tape to the edges of the card base then apply Berry glitter to the card base. Then layer the printed alphabet and popped up heart to the card base!

The finished product is an easy to recreate, yet very lovely card for someone in your life.  This could be used for valentines day or other occasions such as anniversaries.

Glorious Glittered Goodness

It's February and I'm in the Pink! Pink mood that is ...

Linda here and I'm going to show you how I recycled last months Art Glitter project. Remember the little candy jars I made to put Valentine candy in last month? I converted it to reuse as a small vase.

Recycled jar used to hold glittered 3-D flowers.

I'm ready for Spring and flowers so I used my Sizzix Flower, 3-D Wrapped die to cut several layers of pattern paper and coordinating cardstock. Truth be told, I've owned this flower die for about two years and have never used it. I quite like it!

Coordinating pattern paper and cardstock but with Sizzix Flower, 3-D Wrapped die.

After I had them all cut, I inked the edges with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and randomly stamped images on the cardstock to help create texture. I followed the directions that came with the die to wrap and adhere the flower layers. Instead of a skewer I used a thicker black wire and stuck them in a wine cork.

Flower layers inked and ready to assemble onto a wire stem.

The flower layers are rolled and adhered to the wire. I used Designer Dries Clear Adhesive  (DDCA) to glue the individual layers together because it sets up so quickly. The flower layers are stacked alternating pattern paper and cardstock to mix them up a bit. I let them set up a bit while I went for dinner.

Rolled flowers attached to wire. A ribbon is knotted to the flower center.
The glue was totally dry when I came home and they were ready for me to add the glittery goodness. I applied DDCA around all the edge layers of the flowers with a detail brush. Working quickly I sprinkled the flower with Tea Rose Ultrafine Opaque glitter and tapped the excess off into a catcher tray. I did this to all three flowers. Then I pierced a hole into each of three corks and inserted the gloriously glittered flowers!

Gloriously glittered 3-D flowers.
I didn't know what to set them in, then I spotted the Valentine candy jar I made last month with the corrugated glittered strip around the center. It was a perfect little vase for these perfect pink flowers once I tied a pretty pink ribbon around the cardboard.

Valentine Decorations With Art Glitter

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays because it is filled with hearts! Hearts are one of my favorites! Today I wanted to decorate my best friend's mantle, so I made some heart garland.

Products Used:
Red Cardstock
A heart shaped punch or die cut
Sewing Machine
Thread

I will start by saying, I have never sewn on paper before and it was much easier than I thought.

I started by cutting out a bunch of hearts out of the cardstock. I used my Cricut Expression and a cartridge with hearts. I ended up cutting about 40 hearts but did not use them all.

I then took the hearts to the sewing machine. After the thread and bobbin were ready, I sewed across the first heart. I pulled the heart off the the side at the edge of the machine so that each heart would be equally spaced apart from the other.

I continued adding hearts until I had as many as I needed.

I then took the long string of hearts to the other room where I added a thin layer of Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to one side of each heart, then added #360 Pretty Pink Transparent Glitter to it. I did this to each of the hearts.

After I shook off all the glitter, I strung the hearts across the mantle.

I love how the glitter turned the red hearts pink. It is transparent, but it has the red/pink hue to it.

I hope you enjoyed this pretty and yet simple project to add some sparkle and hearts to your Valentine's Day! Now be sure to stop by my blog one.heart.scrapper. to see another glittery Valentine's Day Project!

Valentine Treats with Glitter

Today, I'm going to make little glittered sticker covers for Hershey's Nuggets chocolates so you can give them out for Valentine's Day...
Here's what you'll need...
  1. 1 or 2 bags of Hershey's Nuggets chocolates
  2. Printed labels (See below)... I created mine in Photoshop and printed them on a full sticky sheet of paper. You can also print them on regular paper and glue the backs down.
  3. #7 - Red Rose - Ultrafine Opaque Glitter
  4. #10 - Baby Pink - Ultrafine Opaque Glitter
  5. #13 - Plum Pink (Purple) - Ultrafine Opaque Glitter
  6. Small cellophane bags
  7. Ribbon
And I used 3D Embossit Art Glitter Adhesive to give the areas I glittered a little bit of a lift. If you would like to use my labels, you can open them by clicking here. It's a PDF file that is 8 1/2" x 11". You can also make your own labels. Each little label is 1" wide by 3 1/4" tall with the top "face" of each chocolate starts at the 1 1/8" mark to the 2" mark. First, I glittered the entire sheet of labels...
Then, I cut them out and stuck them on the chocolates...
I then put them in a little bag with a ribbon... and I even wrapped one group in cellophane and wrapped it like a present...

And there you go! Great little Valentine's treats that are sparkly and personalized :)

Have A Little Heart

Hi, Linda here and with Valentine's Day just around the corner I wanted to share with you how you can create this quick-n-easy little shelf sitter to commemorate the day. I started with a mini canvas - it's about 4-inches by 5-inches. I cut a piece of paper from my Ciao Bella Stack by DCWV. It worked out well because the word 'Love' was already on there. I inked the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink then ran it through Xyron to put adhesive on the back. Then I cut two heart shapes from white cardstock and processed those through the Xyron as well. Art_Glitter_Xyron_Linda_Neff_canvas_heart_photo_1 With total adhesive coverage of the heart shapes I peeled off the backing and dipped them in Ruby Red Microfine Opaque glitter. I love Ruby Red. The color is such a nice deep red, it was perfect for a Valentine heart. While the glitter is still on the heart I gently rubbed it into the adhesive with my finger to ensure full coverage. Art_Glitter_Xyron_Linda_Neff_canvas_heart_photo_2 I decided to use only one of the hearts so chose the larger one. I did decide, however, to add a paper doily to the background. I wanted the doily to sparkle and shine so brushed on Designer Dries Clear (DDC) with a craft brush and covered it with Mimosa Ultrafine Transparent glitter. I gently rubbed the glitter into the glue with my finger then tapped off the excess. Art_Glitter_Xyron_Linda_Neff_canvas_heart_photo_3 I used DDC on the back of the doily to stick it to the canvas leaving the glittered portion to hang over the edge of the canvas. Art_Glitter_Xyron_Linda_Neff_canvas_heart_photo_4 At the last minute I decided to add a strip of cream-colored tulle and knotted near the edge. It completely wraps around the plain edge of the canvas and tucks under the pattern paper on the doily side. I added dimensional foam tape to the back of the glittered heart so it would sit on top of the tulle. I used DDC to add three pearl gems from Want2Scrap and my project was done! The canvas makes a cute little holiday decoration and takes very little time to complete. A great project for working with the kids too. Art_Glitter_Xyron_Linda_Neff_canvas_heart_photo_5

All You Need is Love by Carrie

I'm getting into the Valentine's Day spirit with a little hanging art piece. Here are my "ingredients":
Supplies:
  1. Sheet music - I found this by googling "All You Need is Love sheet music" and I sized it to fit inside the rhinestone border that I picked out
  2. A sheet of black paper
  3. Black rhinestone frame from Want 2 Scrap
  4. "L-O-V-E" printed out in circus font, with some little red triangles for the pennant
  5. #349 - Garnet Red - Ultrafine Opaque Glitter
  6. #79 - Black - Ultrafine Opaque Glitter
  7. #83 Silver- Ultrafine Opaque Glitter
  8. 2 grommets
  9. 12 small rhinestones, in your choice of color
  10. Some thin ribbon, embroidery floss or thin tinsel
  11. Ribbon to hang the sign
And I used Designer dries clear adhesive. I started by cutting around the largest rhinestone frame, which is conveniently clear and easy to cut. This way, I'll have a template that I can trace...
Like so...
Then I traced the outside of that template onto the sheet music, centering the title up above.
Cut the sheet music out and place onto a piece of black paper that you are going to use as your background... Before I glued this down, I glittered the edge of the sheet music piece...
A little glue around the edge, cover in glitter (Love this red glitter and the contrast against the black paper)...
After the red border dried, I put down the black rhinestone Want 2 Scrap frame, then glued the whole thing down to the black paper.
I free handed some fern squiggles around the border and added the silver glitter. I put two grommets on the top of the black paper and lastly, I glittered up the L-O-V-E and put the banners together by free handing the black glitter letters and adding a rhinestone to the bottom of each triangle ...
And now all I need to do is add a ribbon and hang it up...
I decided to hang it inside a wreath that hangs over my mantel...

I sort of went crazy on my Valentine's display this year :) I was bored with just red, pink, black and gray, so I added a pop of Tiffany blue to the equation. Here's to lots of love this year!
