Clare love's to capture the wonder of Mother Nature's  winter's whites with Art Glitter!  She scrap books all her families Christmas Cards and keeps them in a Christmas album that she brings out when the decorations go up. What a great way to see how all the children, nieces and nephews change and grow over the years!
Clare started with a piece of white card stock.  She pressed a thin layer of the Art Glitter Fantasy Fiber in Snowflake between parchment paper on a silk setting for five seconds.  She layered this on top of the white card stock and placed a piece of paper lace on top.

Clare folded a piece of Art Glitter Waterfall Fantasy Fiber in half and pressed it in the same manor as above.  She then cut in a Cricut machine using 'Tis the Season Creative Memories Cricut Cartridge.  Clare says to treat the fused Fantasy Film like a lighter weight card stock (Clare used a pressure of 4).  For the snowflakes, Clare cut the white portion using Art Glitter Sticky paper  and pealed off the protective layer.

She sprinkled on Art Glitter Fairy Dust on top and shook off excess.  She sandwhiched the glittered snowflake between two layers of Art Glitter Waterfall Fantasy Fiber and pressed again.

 Clare found that some of the smaller corners needed a bit more than the standard 3 to 5 seconds to bond.  She then hand trimmed around the snowflake.  She used the same layered technique with two more punched snowflakes in the sticky paper as well.

Clare wishes you could see this page live and in person as the photos don't do it justice!  The snowflake and title are much more light aqua blue in real life and work well with the winter whites to make a faux ice look!

Ornament Fun With Laura

For this post, I created a cute little ornament.  I used a couple of different clear and white glitters to create the "snowy" look.  I used a variegated, Microfine Glitter to create a vintage look on the frame. Here it is:

DIRECTIONS:
1)  Use the fine metal tip on the Designer Dries Clear Glue to add "snow" edging on the figurine with Pearlescent Glitter.  The pearlescent is the most opaque white, which is important for the snow to show up.
2)  Pull cotton ball apart a little and adhere to the bottom of the globe with glue.  Adhere figurine on the top.
3)  Place some of the Fantasy Fiber around the figurine to look like snow that has been kicked up.

4)  Paint all three of the ornament frames with the Distress Paint.  Let dry.
5)  Run the two outside frames through the die cut machine with the embossing folder.
6)  Glue the edge of the globe (with the figure in it) to the interior frame.  (The one with the loop).  Let dry a little.
7)  Add some of the Leia glitter in the dome.  Initially, this was supposed to act as a snow globe, but with the static, some of the glitter stuck to the sides of the dome, while the rest found its way down the side of the cotton ball.  After some consideration, I decided that I liked it this way.  The glitter in the cotton ball makes the "snow" appear prettier.  The glitter on the sides of the dome look like a cross between snow and frost.  Although I used holographic glitter, I think it lent the project a vintage look.

8)  Glue the other side of the globe onto the other side of the center piece.  Let dry.
9)  Meanwhile, put a little Designer Dries Clear on your finger and rub lightly over the top of the frame.  Make sure to use the side that has the snowflakes indented.  Work in a very small section at a time.
10)  Pour the Oak Glitter over the top of the glue and tap off the excess.  Let dry.
11)  Repeat steps 9 and 10 with the other frame.
12)  Glue the frames to the outside of the domes.  Let dry.

13)  Use the Big Bite to attach a brad to the bottom of the ornament.
14)  Attach the crystal using jump rings.
15)  Attach a jump ring to the top.
16)  Tie a ribbon around the top to create the hanger.
17)  Tie a ribbon around the bottom.

Fantasy Fiber Snowflake

If you know Clare, you may know she is always trying to work in some fabric or textiles crafts with Art Glitter products.  This years she was so excited to try an old technique with a new product:  Needle felting with Art Glitter Fantasy Fiber.  And Clare found a way to try this technique on the cheap too!
Clare started by taking apart an older wool dress.  She used a garment that was at least 80 % Wool tomake felted wool.   She washed and dried it at the hottest temperature and then ironed it.  She cut it to fit her pillow form, leaving an opening in the back so that she could swap out the pillow cover after the winter season.

Clare cut a snowflake template using the Cricut Home Accents cartridge.  She then traced it onto the right side of the pillow front using tailors chalk.  Using the Dimensions needle felting kit and the Art Glitter Fantasy Fiber, Clare filled in the snowflake design.  And the Fantasy fiber worked wonderful for this!  It did NOT break!   Clare is sharing a video HERE she made on how to needle felt with Art Glitter Fantasy film here.  Here is how the pillow looks half way done.

Once the design was filled, Clare used an iron to heat set the snow flake design.  Place a piece of parchment paper on top of the design and then, set using a medium setting for 3 to 10 seconds.  Or just leave it without ironing for a faux fur look!

 Wow ! What a fun project this was. I had a grand time putting this all together and what a great way to celebrate the 4th of July. anyone could put this together in no time for a great celebration.

 Step 1 choose several toilet paper rolls and ink the tops and bottoms with Art Glitter Black Ink

 Next cover with your choice of Authentique Paper and glitter away some of the details on the paper.

 Then pick out the stickers that you want to use and embellish with lots of sparkly Art Glitter. I also drew out stars and then glittered them as well.

 Next cut out a few circles and give them a poke with a toothpick and pull Fantasy Fiber through the holes color your toothpicks black using the Art Glitter Black ink pad and push up through the hole as well to make it look like a candle wick add onto the top of your covered rolls and add your stars.

Then cut out squares to make a small banner and select the stickers you would like to use

punch holes for twine and glitter edges.

 

Finally trace and cut circle large enough to fit your cake plate and place down for your display

of cupcakes and firecrackers. Then decorate away and enjoy this beautiful and festive center piece for your celebration.

Mixed Media Mini Canvas

Art Glitter, a tiny canvas!

Step One

I cut out 12 pieces of  Spring Morning Fantasy Film.  I layered three sheets of fantasy film and topped it with some of my Shimmering Pink Fantasy Fiber.  I then ironed them (following package directions) for three seconds between two sheets of parchment paper.  I ended up with 4 pieces to play with.
 

Step Two

I used the tattered rose die and cut out multiple flower sizes.  You can see how the fantasy film catches the light, and looks different depending on how the light is hitting it.  It is beautiful in real life.
 

Step Three

I used a heating tool to heat up each petal, and mold them to the shape I wanted.  Then I placed them inside of each other (I used two med and one little one for my flower).  In order to get my flowers to stay together, I placed two layers together, then used my hot glue gun (no glue) in the center of the flower to melt the two pieces together.  I did the same for the additional layer.
 

Step Four

I opened up my large bottle of Art Glitter designer glue, and used a brush to apply a layer to my canvas (notice the shimmer on my canvas), and I will adhere a piece of patterned paper.
 

Step Five

I inked the edges of my piece with Worn Lipstick distress ink and then applied some more designer dries clear glue with a brush across the center. I then used a brayer to adhere my champagne netting. Make sure to trim off the excess.
 

Step Six

I used the same brush, and applied designer glue to all four edges of my canvas and then covered with the Coral Reef glitter!  It is Sparkly gorgeousness!!  I also used a piece of orange swirls ribbon to wrap around my canvas and tied a bow on the left!
 

Step Seven

I took my skeleton leaf and outlined the veins with the designer dries clear glue using the fine tip metal applicator.  I then sprinkled on the olde gold glitter.  You will see in the photo above, how I used the glue, and then the glitter.
 

Step Eight

I used the fine tip metal applicator to apply glue to the swirls on the ribbon, then applied the pumpkin glitter, and the moss green may arts leaves.  You can see that I used it again to adhere the skeleton leaf.
 

Step Nine

I cut out my collage pieces, used the fine tip metal applicator to apply DDCA around the edges of my text boxes, center of butterfly and used the brush to cover the butterfly wings.  The Martha's yard glitter on the text boxes, and Just Peachy on the wings.  I used dimensional dots on all of these pieces.
 

 Step 10

 

I used the fine tip metal applicator and added some DDCA to the center of my flower and and added the Orange Crush glitter.  I also outlined the edges of the flower petals, and applied the Coral Reef glitter.  I let it dry, then added it to my canvas.  I then arranged my text boxes and butterfly and used the dimensional dots to adhere them to my canvas.  The butterfly was outline with DDCA with the fine tip metal applicator and used Coral Reef glitter.    I used the Leafing Adhesive and fine tip metal applicator to apply a line around the edge of my canvas (see photo above).

I let the leafing adhesive dry as per directions, then added the gold leafing paper.

I used a paintbrush to lightly burnish the leafing to the leafing adhesive. 
 

Step 13

I used the fine tip metal applicator and DDCA to add some little dots of glue to the center of my flower and through out my canvas (refer to photo for placement).  I then applied my glass seed beads.
