Glittered Fairy Bookmark by Shelly Hein-Simmons

For book lovers or fairy lovers, these bookmarks are fun and easy to create and the design possibilities are endless!

Supplies:

Art Glitter: Ultrafine Opaque #79 Black
Thin cardboard to use as bookmark base (I used packaging from a shirt)
Patterned Paper (I have used Harlee-Quinnz Designs Butterfly Garden)
Fairy stamp (or other image of your choice – I used Harlee-Quinnz Designs Butterfly Garden Stamps)
Black Pigment Ink
Spray Adhesive
Bottle of Clear Drying Adhesive
Clear Acrylic Spray Sealant
The tassel can be any combination of fibers, ribbons, buttons, charms, etc.

Directions:

Cut a 7 ½” X 2 ¼” rectangle from cardboard, and 2 from the patterned paper. Round corners with a corner rounder punch. Glue patterned paper to both sides of cardboard rectangle, punch hole in center top.

Stamp your image in center of your bookmark using the black pigment ink. Cut an oval from scrap paper, just large enough to cover your stamped image. Lay this oval “mask” over the top of your stamped image and spray around edges of your oval mask with a spray adhesive, or use a brush to spread glue around edges. Remove mask, sprinkle on glitter and tap off excess.

After thoroughly dry, I sprayed a sealer over the whole bookmark.

For the tassel on my bookmark, I used a combination of Harlee-Quinnz Designs fibers, tiny bells, beads and shrinky-dink charms that I created by stamping fairy images on the shrinky-dink material before baking.

Optional: Add a fun or inspiration quote to your bookmark. I used the computer to print my quote onto cardstock, cut into strips and then attached to the bookmark.

The same principle is used for all these projects – drawing with the adhesive is such a versatile way of adding your own flair to projects.

Supplies:
Art Glitter Designer Adhesive with Metal Tip
Art Glitter Ultrafine Glitter
Art Glitter Clear Transparencies
Card blank (cover embossed with Cuttlebug folder)

Same as the other cards – trace your image onto the transparency with glue.

Trace it in stages to add your colours to the image.

Drawing With Glitter by Anam Stubbington

The same principle is used for all these projects – drawing with the adhesive is such a versatile way of adding your own flair to projects.

Supplies:
Art Glitter Designer Adhesive with Metal Tip
Art Glitter Ultrafine Glitter & Gala Glitz
Art Glitter Clear Transparencies
Metallic paper & white paper (the space for writing a message in on the reverse of the card)

Directions:
1. Create a card with your transparency. I make all my cards 4.25 x 5.5
2. Freehand draw your word or image on the front of the card.

3. Add your glitter, tap off excess and allow to dry. Note on the rock one I added different glitter to different parts of the image for a blended look.

(GlitterEmm's note: notice how Anam uses a creased piece of paper under her work -- this is a perfect method for catching the excess glitter and sliding it back into a pee wee vial.)

4. When dry, decorate as desired.

Fantasy Film Party Curls by Emily M. Miller

Oh this is so fun and easy, you’ll love it. Use these Fantasy Film Party Curls for any occasion; even all year round in a window would be lovely!

Materials:
Fantasy Film, any color: 12” x 4”
Designer Dries Clear with Metal Tip attached
Art Glitter Gala Glitz: any color
Iron set to med-high heat
Baker’s Parchment Paper
Scissors
1/4" Hole Punch
Ribbon
Wire or string to hang

Directions:
Fold Fantasy Film to 4” x 4”, cover with parchment paper and iron for 2 –3 seconds. I like to crinkle the film in my hand before ironing. Squish it into as small of a ball as you can, then smooth out, fold to size and iron as usual.

Draw squiggly glue lines all around square. Spoon on Gala Glitz.

Before tapping off excess push glitz into glue with back of spoon. Set aside to dry then glitter other side. Or if you're just too impatient (like me!) and you don’t want to wait for it to dry, turn film square over and glitter with another color of Gala Glitz right away. If you press lightly it really doesn’t matter if the other side is dry yet. Let both sides dry completely, about 1/2 hour.

Round 3 corners. Starting with remaining corner cut approx. a 1/4" wide strip, turning, angling towards center in a spiral pattern until the center is reached. Don’t worry if your width varies a little, once stretched out it isn’t noticeable.

Punch a hole at top of starting point and round off edges. Add a ribbon.

Hang anywhere!

This middle one is longer because I cut the spiral width smaller.
Variations:
-Make longer or shorter curls. The width of your spiral determines the length of the curl. The skinnier the width, the longer the curl.

-Cut in different shapes i.e. oval, square, rectangle. Again, don’t worry if you make a little mistake here or there, once stretched out it isn’t noticeable.

- This is also a perfect project to use up film left overs. Start with one 4” x 4” sheet and cover with scraps, iron as usual. If scraps are thick you may need a longer dwell time.

-Hang some Fantasy Fiber from the bottom. Take a small bunch of Fantasy Fiber and loop around end of curl. Place parchment paper on top, smooth tip of iron over curl end until attached. Fluff fiber.

-Attach a stamped film image to the bottom. Make a small stamped film imprint by following these directions: http://www.artglitter.com/lcdragonfly.htm. Glue to the bottom of curl. Dry and hang.

Have a Fantastically Wonderful New Year!!!

Wings and Things by Brenda Wampler

This is a super easy project, and takes about five minutes or less!

You only need three supplies. Art Glitter Fine Vintage Glass Glitter in any color, masking tape, and an 18 gauge wire. I use the 18 gauge wire because it is sturdier, but you can experiment with any wire that you may have at home.

Twist the wire to create any shape of wing that you wish. Once shaped, you are ready to start wrapping with masking tape. BUT….when you wrap with the tape, wrap with the “sticky” side of the tape facing out, overlapping it as you go.

Once fully wrapped, press into a layer of Art Glitter. Continue to press until you have covered all the tape.

That’s it! Super quick, easy, and some awesome wings for angels, fairies, or whatever your heart desires!
