Holly Noel

Ingredients

• Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue
• Ultra fine Metal Tip
• Art Glitters: #208 Fauna, #109 Cavalado, #162 Just Peachy, #142 Coral Reef, #37 Ice, #299 Celery and #312 Fresh Green.
• Tombow Foam Tabs

Heather printed out her collage sheet, and used her MTC program to form cut lines, then used her Black Cat Cougar Digital cutter to cut out her pieces.  You of course can use your own digital programs and cutters as well as cut out your pieces by hand.

Next Heather inked all of her edges with Ranger's Vintage Photo Distress ink.  She glued the front and back aqua blue snowflake package pieces together using the Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue.

Next she used the Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue to add her holly bases to the front and back of the package.  Make sure when gluing your pieces together, that you line up your holly backgrounds, and that you leave enough room on your package for your "Noel" and "Merry Christmas" images.  Please refer to Heather's photo below for placement of the holly backgrounds.

Heather added some lace, then glued down her leaves using the Ultra fine Metal Tip and Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue.  

There are 6 leaves on the collage sheet, and they fit in specific places so please refer to Heather's Photos for placement of the leaves.

Below is the front of the ornament.  Tombow Foam Tabs were added to the Holly berries and backs of the Text images.  Please refer to the photo below for placement.  She also used her Crop O Dile to punch a hole at the top of the Holly background.

Now the fun part!!  Heather used the  Ultra fine Metal Tip and Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue to outline her gift package, then applied #37 Ice Art Glitter!  

Next Heather  Ultra fine Metal Tip and Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue to outline the leaves and veins.  She added #299 Celery to the two lighter leaves and #109 Cavalado to the darker leaf.

Heather added glue to the holly berries then added #162 Just Peachy to the lighter berries and  #142 Coral Reef to the darker berry.  She then used the Ultra fine Metal Tip and Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue  to add glue to the NOEL image.  

#142 Coral Reef Art Glitter was added to the NOEL image.

Heather added more glue around the opening for hanger and around the Noel Image and applied #208 Fauna Glitter.  Then she added some more dots of glue to her package background.  A tiny pink seam binding bow was added under the Holly berries.

 #37 Ice Glitter was added to the dots of glue.

Decorating the back will be similar to the front.  Heather Added a piece of jewelry wire that she folded in half, and twisted a piece at the top.  Then shaped it into a heart shape.  She then threaded a few beads onto the wire, then place one piece of the wire trough the hanging hole.  The other wire was brought around the side to the front, and the two wires were twisted together.  Heather then curled the ends of the wire.  See Heather's Photo below for placement of the foam tabs onto the Merry Christmas Text Images.

Please refer to Heather's photo below for placement of the leaves, berries and text images.  The leaves were simply glued on like the front, and foam tabs were added to the berries and sentiment, also like the front.

Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue was added to the back similar to the front, with the only exceptions being that Heather didn't add the Glitter to the actual text on this side, and she used #312 Fresh Green Art Glitter on the lighter leaves.

Heather used Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue & Ultra fine  tip to add glue to the focal image.  #196 Lion's Mane was used on the inner ivory colored circle.  #349 Garnet for the scallops and text boxes and Candy cane.  #208 Fauna was used on the Candy Cane.

#295 Ensalada was used on the Holly 

leaves.  She also used #79 Black glitter on the numbers, #160 Rose Gold glitter around the edges of the tag, and numbers.

For this project, Clare wanted to try using the Tombow marker to color Tinkerbell.  Clare loves how vibrant these markers can be and that they can also be as soft as a water color paint!  If you have every tried to cut a Tinkerbell and all of her little parts (eyes, fillagree wings, lips, etc) you may understand that Clare find cutting these tiny pieces, lifting them from the mat and gluing them too frustrating!  So she loaded the Chomas creations pen holder in her Cricut and drew the detail Tinkerbell to use as a coloring guide.  She replaced the pen holder with the blade and cut a separate Tinkerbell black out in white card stock.  She placed the pen drawn Tinker bell behind the blackout Tinkerbell on a light box and colored it with the Tombow markers.  

For the skin color, Clare blended Tombow 933, 743, 055.  For the Wings, Tink's Eyes and the large Christmas ornament, Clare used Tombow 452.  Clare is so excited to play with these markers again, because of all the water color posibilities with the control of a marker!  To keep the water content low, Clare sprayed as she worked onto a scrap piece of clear plastic and added more water as needed.  You can find lots of videos on using these markers on Youtube.  Just search for Tombow marker tutorials.  

Clare also used the Chomas pen holder for the title outline and then colored it in with Tombow 452.  She then applied Art Glitter Blue Angel to the title and Tinkerbell's wings using the Ultrafine tip.  She added a few rhinestones and a Sparkle burst brad and a Christmas Card Photo.  The top of the ornament was crimped with Fiskars paper crimper to look like a real ornament in gold card stock.

To create this card, Clare stamped and cut a Christmas tree using Northwoods Berry and Leaves Tree Stamp.  Clare applied Art Glitter dries clear glue using the Ultrafine tip to the ribbon only on the tree stamp.  She added Art Glitter 332 Red Rocket  Chunky Opaque Hologram Glitter and allowed it to dry.  She then matted it on red card stock and cut around it.  She cut a white mat and faux stitched it with a teal marker.  She matted that on some red Swiss dot card stock.  She punched the Martha Stewart snowflake border along the edge of the white card stock and adhered  the border to the back of the K & Company patterned paper.  She used a K and Company Rub on for the Joy to the World Sentiment.  She then assembled all the mats and borders.

Clare loves to stretch her stamps to make multiple images with one stamp.  For this project she used the tree stamp to create a star.  To create the star, she stamped and cut 12 Christmas trees using Northwoods Berry and Leaves Tree Stamp.  Clare cut out all 12 trees.  Using Art Glitter Ultra fine tip and Designer dries clear glue; Clare applied glue to the ribbon only on all 12 trees.  She added Art Glitter 332 Red Rocket  Chunky Opaque Hologram Glitter.  She allowed the glue to dry and using 6 trees placed them in a circle to form a snow flake, matching ribbon ends.  She adhered the trees to red card stock and cut around snowflake to form a red mat.  

Using the next six trees overlapping ribbons, she created a smaller snowflake on red card stock.  She adhered the trees and cut out the smaller snowflake.  She adhered the larger snowflake to page, and adhered smaller snowflake inside larger snowflake, alternating tree points.  Clare cut her photo in circle and placed in center of the snowflake, fussy cutting the baby’s hand and feet because they were just so sweet she could not crop them out! 

Clare created the title using a Silhouette file and the Cameo to print and cut the title.   She added the Red Rocket to the title using the Ultra fine tip as well.  She added bling in the lower right hand corner.

Pepermint Fun

Nothing adds a festive feel to ordinary objects like glitter!  I found this glass plate in the dollar aisle at Target and was instantly inspired with a quick and simple holiday decor idea.....a Starlight Mint Plate.

For this project I used:  Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive (DDCA), Art Glitter Ultra fine glitters - #351 Pink Diamonds and #86 Angel Dust, Helmar Vellum Adhesive Spray, Clear Acrylic Spray Sealer.

I used a metal fine tip on the DDCA to trace one of the swirls in the glass on the back of the plate.

Then I sprinkled Pink Diamonds glitter over the glue and tapped offed the excess.

I repeated this process at even intervals around the plate and created a sunburst pattern in the center, then I set the plate aside to dry completely.

Once the glue was dry, I brushed off the excess pink glitter and sprayed the back of the plate with Helmar Adhesive spray.  While the adhesive was still wet, I sprinkled Angel Dust Glitter over the back of the plate.  

The adhesive spray and glitter give the plate a frosted look.  I set it aside to dry, and once it was dry I sprayed the back of the plate with two coats of acrylic spray sealer.  This protects the glitter and keeps it from shedding.   

Since all of the design work is on the back of the plate, you can use the plate for light use - candy dish, cookie plate, decoration, etc - but do not put it in the dishwasher or soak it in water.

Christmas Gift hat Sparkles!T

Looking for a unique, personalized gift?  How about a glittering monogrammed purse hanger.  These are great when you are in a restaurant and don't want to put your purse one the floor or hang it on the back of your chair.  They make great gifts for teachers, co-workers, friends & family.  

You will need:
Blank Purse hangers - (I found these on Ebay, but I think Hobby Lobby carries something similar) Art Glitter Ultra Fine Glitter (any color), Globecraft Memories Glastique Gloss, Alphabet stickers - smaller than 1" in diameter.

Begin by putting a puddle (about the size of a quarter) of Glastique in the center of the purse hanger.

Add about 1/2 teaspoon of your favorite color of Art Glitter and carefully mix into the Glastique with a toothpick.

Use the toothpick to spread the glitter mixture evenly over the bottom of the purse hanger and set aside to dry.

Once dry, add desired letter sticker.  Be sure to press it down completely so no air bubbles will form under it.

Add another layer of Glastique, completely filling the recessed area.  Set aside to dry over night on a level surface.  The thicker you apply the Glastique, the longer it will take to dry.  It is set when it is completely clear.

Tada!
