What was used:
Dreamweaver Stencil LJ 906 Maple branch

Worldwin Papers
Art Glitter #810 Clear  Small Transparent  Glass Beads

This card was created by our Design Team Lead, Kristi Parker Van Doren

This card was created by using a blend of embossing paste from Dreamweaver Stencils.  While the paste was still wet, the glass beads were added.  As a final accent BLING from Want 2 Scrap was added.  All of this was layered on various card stock from Worldwin Papers.

A Closer Look:  You can see the texture of the beads and in the paper.

Got to love the bling!

A Card for Every Occasion

There are times when you are in a pinch and need a quick card for something and then there are times when you have nothing to do, but create. Use your creative time to make this quick and easy cards that will wow everyone. This month, Art Glitter and Penny Black have teamed up together to bring more sparkling stamped fun to your creativity.

Supplies Needed:

From Art Glitter:
Fresh Green Ultrafine Glitter
Lemone Ultrafine Glitter
Garnet Ultrafine Glitter
Jet Eye Chunky Opaque Hologram
Black Wing Microfine Glitter
Diamond Dust Vintage Glass Glitter
Spoon Man!  Spoons    http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtools.htm

From Penny Black:

Also Needed:
4- 8 1/2" x 11" pieces of white cardstock
A fine paint brush
A 1/4" paint brush
Tear Edger (optional)
Acrylic Stamp Block
Ruler

Begin by cutting the cardstock in half to create 8 cards that measure 5 1/2" wide x 4 1/4" tall. Carefully tear approximately 1/4" off the bottom front using a tear edger tool or just by roughly tearing being careful not to tear up the card front.

Stamp the designs from the Wishes stamp set by Penny Black onto the front.

Now the fun begins. Time to decorate! Use these simple ideas to add sparkle to any card.

Flood the centers in small puddles with of some with Designer Dries Clear Glue and sprinkle glitter or Black Wing Microfine Glitter over the puddle.

Using a small paint brush spread some Designer Dries Clear Glue into the petal areas and sprinkle with glitter. In this picture, you can also see how great the Black Wing Microfine Glitter looks after sprinkling it on over a puddle of glue. Be sure not to forget the stems! Run a line of glue down them using the metal tip and then sprinkle with glitter. Outline the edges such as the dots on this stamped image and add some glitter to bring out the image more.

Add special interest to the torn edges by placing a line of glitter along the back edge. Simply use a ruler inside the card to give you a straight edge, spread some glue using a medium width paint brush along the edge (I suggest doing one half at a time so the glue doesn't dry before it is glittered) and then sprinkle the glitter over the glue. Repeat this step for the second half of the edge. Use the metal tip to run a line or more than one along the bottom edge as shown in the right hand picture and add glitter over them.

Here are some close ups of some of my favorites to show you how great the details of these stamps are with glitter added.

This is using the Diamond Dust Vintage Glass Glitter on it.

These Baby Love Glass Beads are perfect for these small flowers.

The shine of the Crystal Glitter combined with the Lemone Glitter make this stamped image pop.

Now it's your turn! Start stamping and glittering so that you have a card for that next unexpected occasion. You can't go wrong when it comes to Art Glitter and Penny Black Stamps. They'll be sure to put a "wow!" in any occasion.

Mixed Media With Georgia

The month of June, Art Glitter is partnering with Authentique Papers. The papers are so pretty and the addition of Art Glitter makes them POP! Use the code: AQ20 on your order at www.artglitter.com to save 20% on your order of $25. or more. Happy Shopping and hope you enjoy the month of Art Glitter and Authentique.

The Supplies I used were:
Authentique - Seasons Collection
D50- Baja Cove Dazzlers
#85 Crystal Transparent Ultrafine Glitter
#40 Ocean Ultrafine Opaque
#27 Navy Ultrafine Opaque
#513 Mediterranian Microfine Opaque
#521 Cayman Microfine Opaque
#612 Golden Glow Fine Vintage Glass Glitter
#822 Hiawatha Sm. Opaque Glass Beads
Dries Clear Adhesive and Ulrafine Tip

I really had some fun with this project, I"m normally a cardmaker, but at CHA the Faber-Castille booth used this book portfolio for their info. I just felt the need to alter this for my own use. I love the Authentique colors of yellow and turquoise used in these papers.
I picked the colors above because they represented a nice range of color to blend with the papers. I glittered a fes of the hexagons on the paper and then applied dries clear adhesive with a brush and just started adding the different colors and textures of glitter. Using the different papers I punched out 3 butterflies painted them with the adhesive and sprinkled them with crystal transparent glitter to make them POP. As you can see I added several embellishments to my project. I'm looking forward to doing  some more altered art adding elements of glitter. I hope you all have a sparkling day.

Georgia!

Art Glitter and 52 Kids!

I had the joyous pleasure of teaching the K-8th graders at the United Christian School in Camp Verde down the road from us this week. They know all about glitter now! Truly a craft worth cultivating for well rounded students!

Here's the card the Kindergarten class made. It's a snowman made from recycled white lids at Art Glitter and Faux Snow! The face and buttons are  #850 Model T Grande Beads, and we used Sticky Tape to attach the lids to the cards so they could work on them without waiting for them to dry. And of course we used Designer Dries Clear Adhesive for all the projects. We could have used our Dries White Adhesive to make the snow whiter, but I don't use it with children so they don't ruin their clothing.

They were so focused! I love using Faux Snow with the little guys because they can get their hand in it and not get TOO messy. Really turned out great!

The 1st and 2nd graders made some fabric ornaments, which I sadly did not get any photos of, but they had a few more minutes afterward and we glittered some pine cones. I always bring pine cones in case I need something quick and easy to fill in some time and the kids just love them.

We used all Opaque Ultrafine Art Glitter. It is a little more forgiving for kids to use. Meaning, it doesn't cross pollute as much as Transparent.

You can see my friend Miss Kathy in the purple with the 1st graders above. She's so wonderful. I have bling strands or sometimes referred to as shimmers in my hair... she told the kids that I had been working at Art Glitter for such a long time that I had started to grow glitter in my hair! A few fell for it, but most thought it through and called her on it!

We didn't even attempt the glitter hair story with the 5th-8th graders. Of course they've seen the shimmers before! So many boys (one girl above) working diligently on their butterflies! This is a larger version of Barbara's Butterfly image printed on our Transparencies.

Always a big hit we used all Ultrafine Transparent colors here. The girls were in heaven! When it dries you cut the butterfly out and add ribbon so you can hang it in a window or on the tree.

The 3rd and 4th graders made Bling Bells. It's a recycled tin can glittered to the max with a pipe cleaner and bell for hanging and ringing.

Again we used a rainbow of Ultrafine Opaque Art Glitter colors and some Hexi Dazzlers. They were so creative, it's great to see the diversity of designs they come up with.

If you make this project, start at the top and work your way down. Don't worry about the glitter that clings to the walls while you are moving along. You can brush all that off when it is dry. Much fun!

Thank you United Christian School for sharing your talented and well behaved students. And thank you Art Glitter fans for joining along. If you ever need any advice or ideas on creating glitter classes for students of any age, give us a call!  - GlitterEmm........

Globecraft Memories Earrings and Vintage Glass Glitter

Globecraft Memories makes it so easy to use their products I hardly had to think about this one!
I started out with their Butterfly Earrings Set and applied their Metallic Copper Cool-Set Enameling Gel on the backside of the butterflies. This set is small so I just spread the Enamel around with my finger then let dry.
Then I decorated the front sides with Art Glitter Fine Vintage Glass Glitter and Glass Beads applied with Designer Dries Clear Adhesive. I just love the look of the Glass Glitter, but I usually don't use it with jewelry, except...
Globecraft Memories has a great sealant, Glastique Gloss that seals in the color and makes the glass glitter 'safe' to wear! Add some beads and string them together for a fast and easy pair of blingrings!

See how the back side look just as great as the front? I love it! Enjoy! -emm

Beading Heart Pendant by Emily M. Miller

When I received my goodies from Helmar I jumped right in and started gluing everything I could get my hands on. Right away I noticed how three dimensional the Gemstone glue is and thought it would be a great match for some of our heavier glitter products. Oh how I LOVE going 3-D!

Things You Need:
Helmar Gemstone Glue
Art Glitter Glass Beads: #800 Vermillion Large, #813 Crimson Lake Large, #801 Deco Pink Large, #803 Solar, #803 Solar Small, #806 Sonata Small, #808 Sterling Large, #817 Pearlies Large, #810 Clear Large
Art Glitter Ultrafine Opaque Glitter: #291 Fire Engine Red
Art Glitter Transparency Sheet
Art Glitter Noodger
Paper Plate
Scissors
Wire
Round Needle Nose Pliers
Spray Lacquer

Start with a piece of wire and wrap it around into a loose circle with needle nose pliers and twist ends into a stem with the ends extended. Draw a glue heart onto transparency sheet (sitting on paper plate) and lay wire post in middle of heart. I sprinkled a few Sterling Large beads first for a base and filled in with some Crimson Lake and Clear Large beads. I let this dry about half an hour and put on another layer of glue with more of the same beads in an random pattern.

This glue is really fun, it stays flexible! So after applying the beads you can let it dry 10-15 minutes and then push the beads around, into the glue to solidify your shape. I used a 'noodger' to get my edges just so. Once the edges of the heart are dry, a few hours or so, you can cut the transparency off, go in close to just under the beads for a clean look. It will completely dry in a day or two, depending on the humidity in your area.

Left is the front, right is the back side where you can see the extra silver beads I used that will help hide my silver wire. I wanted to show you how fun the clear beads made this project. Once the glue is completely dry use a spray lacquer on the beads. The beads are not solvent resistant and can tarnish over time otherwise.

Next I decided I wanted to try the same technique on a smaller version so I could glue and bead the backside without the pendant getting too heavy. I used a few Solar, large beads, then some Pearlies and covered the rest with Solar small beads. When using multiple size embellishments, start with your largest size first and fill in to the smallest size. After the edges are dry and you have cut the transparency off you can turn it over, glue and bead in a couple of layers again.

It really is not heavy, which made me very happy. When I showed these to Barbara Trombley she noticed that the project does use a lot of beads. So I started thinking. With this glue, maybe I don't need to layer the beads.

So one more try! This time I started off with a pretty thick base of glue. I let it be a little gloppy, planning to push it into shape later. Let it dry for about 1.5 hours.

Then I sprinkled on my large beads: Sterling, Solar, Vermillion, Deco Pink. Then covered the rest with small beads: Sonata. I pushed them into the glue a little and as you can see on the left heart below there is still open glue.

Fill it in with Fire Engine Red Ultrafine Glitter. Now the right heart above is covered and looks redder. If you compare the backside of this heart to the backside of the gold one above you can see how the beads are not touching the transparency, they are just sitting on top of the glue.

Apply your glue thickly to the back like before, let dry 1.5 hours, bead and glitter like before. Dry and spray with spray lacquer.

I have to admit, this last one is my favorite. Which one is yours?
