Art Glitter Welcome

Supplies
Art Glitter 278 Poppy Ultrafine Opaque
White Canvas
12 x 24 inch paper
Dreamweaver Embossing Paste
Foam Brush
Small paint brush
Tape runner
Digital Cutter (Clare used Cameo)
Clear tape

Clare has always wanted a welcome sign for her front entry.  She has been inspired by a fellow Art Glitter Design Team member to use Art Glitter with her Cameo cutting machine in her projects.  She also thinks is perfect project for the glitter newbie!   She started by typing the word welcome using the Brush Script MT font and welding the letters.
Clare cut the word in paper to use as a stencil.  Using a canvas 28 x 22 inch white canvas she got got at Michaels using a coupon, Clare applied her template using a tape runner.
She then used a foam brush to apply the Dreamweaver Embossing Paste to the canvas over the stencil openings.  Clare thought the Art Glitter glue would dry too quickly on this project and before she could apply the Art Glitter, so she used an embossing paste.  She also applied the paste on three letters at a time, so that it would not dry before she applied the glitter. She also applied some embossing paste free hand at either end of the word so that the word went off the side of the frame.  After all the glitter was applied and before the paste dried she carefully removed her template.  She allowed it to dry overnight and brushed off excess glitter with a dry paint brush.  Since the canvas held some of the excess glitter after brushing, she also used some clear tape to remove lose glitter not part of the design.  Clare love the simplicity and beauty of this home décor project.  So get out the Art Glitter and give it a try!

One of the things Clare loves about Art Glitter is the range of colors!  She knows she can find a color glitter to match any project she is working on!  This will come in handy with wedding season approaching.  Clare used the perfect color Art Glitter to make beautiful barrettes for the flower girl.
She started by covering a Darcy barrette with ribbon, gluing it in place with a hot glue gun.  Clare likes to use a low temp glue gun to avoid burns!  She then punched some leaves in Art Glitter Sticky paper.  She peeled off the protective layer first.   Clare finds it easy to just dip the leaf in the glitter on the side of the leaf in the light color green.

Here Clare used 280 Lime Rind Ultrafine Opaque.  She then dipped the same leaf in the darker color green to cover the center of the leaf, this is 150 Poison Ivy.

Once the leaves were made, she glued them on top of the ribbon on the barrette.
For the flower, Clare cut a rolled rose using a Sizzix die and some plastic packaging from a embossing folder she bought:  reduce, reuse, recycle!  She has even used the plastic lid to the salad packaging from the grocery store to make flowers!  You can find more photos of the packaging flowers here.   While the rose was still flat, she covered the center of each petal using 297 Hibiscus Ultrafine Transparent glitter and the ultrafine glue tip, and Art Glitter Dries Clear glue.
She made a second row of color, again using the ultrafine tip and 304 Petal Pink Ultrafine transparent glitter.

Once these had dried completely, Clare rolled the rose and glued it at the center using a glue gun.  For the flower center she glued a dew drop from The Robin's Nest.  She gently bent the petals once the glue had dried completely.  She then attached the flower to the barrette on top of the leaves.

Merry Christmas Card

Merry Christmas!!
Heather's Project is a Christmas Card.  She has also included some other Christmas items for you to enjoy below.
Items used

Heather used a piece of green, red and pink Core'dinations cardstock.  She embossed the pink piece with a spellbinders die and sizzix embossing folder. The Red piece was embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  It measure 4.25" by 5.5".  The green piece measures 9.5" by 6".  Score at 4.75".  She decided not use the green label,  changed her mind :0)..that happens sometimes :0).

Edges were inked with Ranger's Vintage Photo.   Heather sanded the raised area of the red mat and pink scallop circle. She tied some Candycane baker's twine around the red mat.  She used red sticky tape to adhere it to the card base.
Using the fine tip applicator and Art Glitter Designer glue, she followed the raised pattern on the red mat.  She didn't want solid lines, so she lifted here and there.
Using the Art Glitter Designer glue, she adhered the jumbo moss green leaves to the back of her pink piece, she also applied some pop dots to the pink piece and holly die cut.
Using the fine tip applicator and designer glue, she followed around the outside and veins of the die cut leaves.  She also added the glue to the jumbo leaves.
IHeather added Pink Cadillac glitter to the red mat piece and holly berries of the die cut.  The Cavalado glitter was used on all the leaves.  Just Peachy glitter was used on the edges of the white flowers. Heather also added a "Christmas" text box that she created in GIMP.  She added the Just Peachy glitter to the edges of it as well, and applied it to the card using pop dots.
Heather hopes you enjoyed her tutorial today, and she has a couple other Christmas Goodies for you to enjoy!

Christmas Bulb

All Things That Sparkle and Shine

Peg has been making various types of ornaments for years.  She has found that they are a great addition to her family's tree and make wonderful gifts.  This year she created these beautiful glittered ornaments using Art Glitter.

Supplies Needed:

Glitter from Art Glitter- The more ornaments you create the more glitter colors you will need.
Fire Engine Red Ultrafine Opaque Glitter-http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Rartglitter.html
Challis Ultrafine Opaque Hologram Glitter-http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Rartglitter.html

Also Needed:
  Glass or Plastic Ornaments
  A bottle of rubbing alcohol
Floor Cleaner-NOTE:  It must have the word "FINISH" on it (Pledge or Mop & Glo work best)
   Funnel

Begin by removing the metal tops from the ornaments and pouring some rubbing alcohol into them.  Slowly turn the ornament around making sure to not create any bubbles and to cover every part of the ornament to get it well cleaned.  Pour the alcohol into a separate container to use for additional ornaments.

Pour some of the floor cleaner into the ornament and slowly move around making sure to cover the entire area including the opening.  Pour the cleaner into another container to use later.  You can also pour it back into the bottle.
Pour the glitter into the ornament through a funnel.  Slowly turn the ornament around to cover all of it.  You can add more glitter if needed to get it covered.

Turn the ornament upside down and all the glitter to fall out.  Make sure that all of the loose glitter is removed.

Allow the ornaments to dry upside down for a day.  You can turn an empty egg carton upside down and cut the very bottom out of it and place the neck of the ornament through the hole to hold it while it dries.

Once the ornament has dried, place the top back onto the ornament and then slide the wire hanger back in.  This will prevent the hanger from scratching the glitter off.

Create a bow and glue it onto the neck of the ornament.

Add a little shine to the holidays with these gorgeous ornaments using Art Glitter.  Hang them on your own tree or give them as gifts.  They will bring joy year after year to everyone.

 Happy Holidays Everyone!

Squirreling Around

Ingredients

This month we are happy to be teaming up with Northwoods!

To celebrate, Art Glitter is having a 20% off retail sale of any $25 purchase.  Just use code NW20 at Check out!

Directions
Step 1
Heather started out by using the Northwoods Nora's Bountiful Squirrel Stamp and the Art Glitter Black ink pad to stamp her image onto white card stock.  Heather LOVES Squirrels, so she loved playing with this adorable image!
She used Copics to color her image. #BO2  #BO1 were used for the background.  The Squirrel, was colored with E35, E55, and E37, bows and flowers were colored with Y38 and YR14, Same with bows with touches of YO4 and Y68,  Acorns and acron baskets with E35 and touches of Y38.  Stick handle was done with E18.
  Step 2
Heather used the 1/2 perfect layer ruler to cut a 1/2" mat for the bottom.
Step 3
Heather used her perfect layers ruler to create a mat out of green card stock.  Sides were cut with 3/16 ruler..
Step 4
Heather used the 3/16 perfect layer ruler edge for the bottom of the next cardstock layer (black).

Step 5
Heather used the Perfect Layers Ruler to cut the sides of the black cardstock to a 5/16th" mat.  This time she measured off the stamped image piece instead of the green layer.
Step 6
Heather put a strip of the red sticky tape across the bottom edge of card.
Step 7
Heather applied her Fall Leaves ribbon to the red sticky tape. The Ultra fine tip applicator and Designer dries clear glue were used to add some glue to the edges of the stamped image, and black mini ric rac was attached.
Step 8
Then she used another piece of the ribbon to create a loop, and then glued it down to the ribbon base to create a bow on the front of the card.  A button tied with Brown Sugar Baker's Twine was added to form the center of the bow.
Heather added glue to the acorns and  basket bottoms and used Lion's Mane Glitter.
Step 9
Heather added more glue to her image, and applied Camel Glitter.
Step 10
Glue was applied to the acorn tops and rims of acorn baskets then Riverbank Glitter was added.

Step 11
Heather continued to use the DDCG and UFTA to apply glue to the bows and then applied Butterscotch Glitter.

Step 12
Glue was applied to the squirrel, and Goldenrod glitter was used.
Step 13
Swirls of glue were added to the background and Blue Angel Glitter was applied.
Step 14
Heather used the red sticky tape and placed on her ivory card stock base which was inked with Ranger's Vintage photo.  This will hold down her matted focal image.  Dot of DDCG were added to the edges of the green card stock and Cavalado Glitter was added.
Step 15
Heather attached her matted image to her cardstock base.
How about a close up of the Cute
Northwoods' Nora's Bountiful Squirrel Image!
