Merry Christmas Card

Merry Christmas!!
Heather's Project is a Christmas Card.  She has also included some other Christmas items for you to enjoy below.
Items used

Heather used a piece of green, red and pink Core'dinations cardstock.  She embossed the pink piece with a spellbinders die and sizzix embossing folder. The Red piece was embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  It measure 4.25" by 5.5".  The green piece measures 9.5" by 6".  Score at 4.75".  She decided not use the green label,  changed her mind :0)..that happens sometimes :0).

Edges were inked with Ranger's Vintage Photo.   Heather sanded the raised area of the red mat and pink scallop circle. She tied some Candycane baker's twine around the red mat.  She used red sticky tape to adhere it to the card base.
Using the fine tip applicator and Art Glitter Designer glue, she followed the raised pattern on the red mat.  She didn't want solid lines, so she lifted here and there.
Using the Art Glitter Designer glue, she adhered the jumbo moss green leaves to the back of her pink piece, she also applied some pop dots to the pink piece and holly die cut.
Using the fine tip applicator and designer glue, she followed around the outside and veins of the die cut leaves.  She also added the glue to the jumbo leaves.
IHeather added Pink Cadillac glitter to the red mat piece and holly berries of the die cut.  The Cavalado glitter was used on all the leaves.  Just Peachy glitter was used on the edges of the white flowers. Heather also added a "Christmas" text box that she created in GIMP.  She added the Just Peachy glitter to the edges of it as well, and applied it to the card using pop dots.
Heather hopes you enjoyed her tutorial today, and she has a couple other Christmas Goodies for you to enjoy!

Christmas Bulb
Art Glitter Designer dries clear Glue & Ultra fine Metal Tip were used to add the dots of glue to the center of my ribbon and  #73 Platinum Art Glitter was applied.  The bulb was fill with #183 Blue Angel Art Glitter.  The bulbs were bought at her local Michael's store.

All Things That Glisten

Glitter is always a part of the holiday season.  You see it on so many things so why not add it to your own cards and projects to make them extraordinary this year.  Add Tombow Markers to the mix and you have the perfect makings for any holiday project.

In November you can use the PROMO CODE TB20 for 20% off of your $25 or more order.

Also Needed: White Card Stock, Blue Card Stock,Embossing Folder and Die Cut Machine, Dark Pink Ink Pad, Light Pink Ink Pad, Printer or Stamp for Sentiment,  Tape Runner

Begin by creating a 5"x 7" card base from white card stock.  Lay it aside.  Next, cut a piece of white card stock to fit into the embossing folder you have chosen and run it through your die cut machine.  Color in some of the areas using the Dual Brush Pens from Tombow.
Now, use the metal tip on the Designer Glue and outline some of the embossed areas.  Sprinkle the glitter over them and remove the excess returning it to the jar.
Add some glue and glitter around the areas that you colored with the markers to make them shine, too.  Also, add some directly over the areas such as the tops of these ornaments and allow the marker to show through the clear glitter when it dries.  It adds a little shine and sparkle to what you've colored.

Bring some color to your projects with Tombow markers.  Then, add  a little sparkle and together they will bring join into the season.   You can't go wrong with this combination!

Glistening Holiday Greeting

Add a little color and sparkle to all of your projects this holiday season with Tombow Markers and Art Glitter.  The Art Glitter design team has been having fun already creating things for the holidays.  Peg likes the traditions of the holidays and one of the symbols of a traditional Christmas to her is the poinsettia.  Every year she buys one to enjoy.  Speaking of enjoying, be sure to enjoy the PROMO CODE TB20 for 20% off of your $25 or more order this month.

Supplies Needed:

From Art Glitter:
     Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitter-http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Rartglitter.html
     Designer Dries Clear Glue-http://www.artglitter.com/retail/Radhesives.htm
     Ultrafine Metal Tip-http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtools.htm
     Spoons-http://www.artglitter.com/retail/rtools.htm

From Tombow
     Retro Dual Brush Pens-http://tombowusa.com/craft/markers/dual-brush-pen-set-6-retro.html

Additional Supplies:

Card stock for card base, patterned paper for card, 1 piece of ribbon, fine paint brush, image printed off internet (remember to find ones that are copyright free to use)

After you have printed your image use the markers to color it.  Here Peg chose to search for a poinsettia image online using the search terms," poinsettia clip art."

Place the metal tip on the bottle of glue and add a small amount of it to one section of the image.  Be sure to work in small sections so the glue doesn't dry before the glitter is added.  Once the line of glue is on the image, use the paint brush to spread it out over the area.
Then, sprinkle the glitter over the glued area. Allow it to sit for a minute to adhere well and then shake the excess back into the container.  Once the glue has dried the color will show through. How cool is that?   Continue repeating these steps until all of the areas are covered that you want.  For this image, Peg chose to leave some areas open for contrast.  She added glitter over the flower centers to make them stand out from the poinsettia.

Allow it to completely dry and then assemble the card.

Now, you can send a little sparkle to someone this holiday season or any time of year.  Color an image with the fabulous Tombow markers and then add some clear glitter for a look that's out of this world.  Gather those supplies and get to work.  The holidays will be here before you know it!

Art Glitter and 52 Kids!

I had the joyous pleasure of teaching the K-8th graders at the United Christian School in Camp Verde down the road from us this week. They know all about glitter now! Truly a craft worth cultivating for well rounded students!

Here's the card the Kindergarten class made. It's a snowman made from recycled white lids at Art Glitter and Faux Snow! The face and buttons are  #850 Model T Grande Beads, and we used Sticky Tape to attach the lids to the cards so they could work on them without waiting for them to dry. And of course we used Designer Dries Clear Adhesive for all the projects. We could have used our Dries White Adhesive to make the snow whiter, but I don't use it with children so they don't ruin their clothing.

They were so focused! I love using Faux Snow with the little guys because they can get their hand in it and not get TOO messy. Really turned out great!

The 1st and 2nd graders made some fabric ornaments, which I sadly did not get any photos of, but they had a few more minutes afterward and we glittered some pine cones. I always bring pine cones in case I need something quick and easy to fill in some time and the kids just love them.

We used all Opaque Ultrafine Art Glitter. It is a little more forgiving for kids to use. Meaning, it doesn't cross pollute as much as Transparent.

You can see my friend Miss Kathy in the purple with the 1st graders above. She's so wonderful. I have bling strands or sometimes referred to as shimmers in my hair... she told the kids that I had been working at Art Glitter for such a long time that I had started to grow glitter in my hair! A few fell for it, but most thought it through and called her on it!

We didn't even attempt the glitter hair story with the 5th-8th graders. Of course they've seen the shimmers before! So many boys (one girl above) working diligently on their butterflies! This is a larger version of Barbara's Butterfly image printed on our Transparencies.

Always a big hit we used all Ultrafine Transparent colors here. The girls were in heaven! When it dries you cut the butterfly out and add ribbon so you can hang it in a window or on the tree.

The 3rd and 4th graders made Bling Bells. It's a recycled tin can glittered to the max with a pipe cleaner and bell for hanging and ringing.

Again we used a rainbow of Ultrafine Opaque Art Glitter colors and some Hexi Dazzlers. They were so creative, it's great to see the diversity of designs they come up with.

If you make this project, start at the top and work your way down. Don't worry about the glitter that clings to the walls while you are moving along. You can brush all that off when it is dry. Much fun!

Thank you United Christian School for sharing your talented and well behaved students. And thank you Art Glitter fans for joining along. If you ever need any advice or ideas on creating glitter classes for students of any age, give us a call!  - GlitterEmm........

Ready for Christmas Fun

Well...Halloween is behind us, so you know what that means....time to get ready for Christmas!  So today I'm sharing a very quick and simple Christmas card idea.

I started with some retro felt ornaments from Creative Impressions - Christmas Ornament Assortment.

I used a piece of Art Glitter Sticky paper - 4.25" x 5.5".  After removing the protective sheet - I positioned the felt ornaments on the sticky side of the paper.

Then I used Art Glitter ultra fine glitter (#85 - Crystal)  to fill in the open areas of the ornaments - rubbing the glitter into the sticky paper.  Once the interior areas of the ornaments were finished, I covered the rest of the exposed sticky paper with Crystal glitter.

This glitter covered sheet was then attached to a piece of red foil card stock.

I was going to leave it at that, but then decided I needed to have a little gold for the hangers.  I used a metal fine tip on the Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear Adhesive on the tops of the ornaments and drew lines from the top of the ornaments to the top of the card.

I covered the lines and ornament tops with Art Glitter ultra fine glitter - #139 Leather.

There is nothing better that glitter to add that extra special sparkly touch to all your holiday crafting!  Please visit my blog for more glittering Christmas craft ideas!

Thanks!
