I love using a digital cutter such as a Cricut or Silhouette and manual die cutter with beautiful dies, but often wish to make my projects stand out with the unexpected. Just because you have the same machine or dies as many paper crafters, doesn't mean your projects need to look the same! So, today I am sharing how I kick up my pages and dies a notch with Art Glitter.
If you use a digital cutter, use the corresponding software and alter the die shapes! You can alter a shape to fit current trends and use your current cartridges of digital images. Think stretching, scaling, flipping and copying! For this page, I stretched an oval shape from the Cricut Cartridge Sophie to make a trendy circle swirl. I also copied the image to get the look of a classic quilting themed wedding ring look. And while you are modifying your die, don't be afraid to trim it to get the look you like. I used the chevrons in this fabulous Authentique paper to show me where I wanted to trim my circle swirls.
Once you have modified your die cuts, you can embellish them to set them apart! I used the Art Glitter Ultra fine Metal Tip (photo above) with the Art Glitter Designer Dries Clear glue to high light the flowers on this die cut along the edges.
Use your die cuts to highlight beautiful paper! I wanted to high light the word "Sunny" on the Authentique paper, so I placed my die so that the word fell in the valley of the die cut (see photo below).
Don't you love this yellow and blue combination by Authentique?! Perfect for those swimming and water pages!
