Shabby Chic is an old English country style mostly derived the wear and tear. Today, we find the distressed designs in more modern graphics and touch bolder colors but still replicating a comfortable cottage feel. The trick is how to add bling (and not be flashy) to a relaxed, time worn look. See how Art Glitter Designer, Lynette Daniel has added her special touch of soft elegance to the faded Authentique summer collection below!
Lynette started with 3 Authentique summer collection papers, 4 Art Glitters and Cotton Cloud Fantasy Fiber, 2 solid WorldWin Papers cardstocks, 1 Crafter's Workshop 12x12 Template, Tim Holtz rotary paper distress tool & Scattered Straw Distress Ink, Ranger Buttercup Liquid Pearl, May Arts Ribbon jute twines, silk flowers, and a handful of assorted buttons.
As shown above, Lynette laid the Crafter's Workshop template on the cardstock and applied Art Glitter Designer Adhesive (Clear) on a foam applicator. Next, lifted up the template and sprinkled #254 Stratosphere Opaque Chunky Hologram onto cardstock then distressed edges when dry.
To get that soft elegant look, Lynette chooses a monochromatic glitter palette to match the Authentique summer collection papers. Above, you'll see how she stitched the layers together then used her Cricut to cut the flourish and embellish with Art Glitter Designer Adhesive and #167 Rain Forest Ultrafine Transparent Glitter.
