More Glitter and Wonderland Girls

Hey every one here I am with the second half of the Wonderland Girls, these cute stamps are a Limited addition from The Greeting Farm. I just knew these cards would be great with Art Glitter.

Who can resist these girls ?
Art Glitter Supply List:
333 Red Zone (Ultrafine Opaque Hologram)
138 Red Dwarf (Ultrafine Opaque Hologram)
252 Red Planet (Chunky Opaque Hologram)
716 Simba ( Microfine Transparent)
742 Rock Moss (Microfine Transparent)
521 Cayman (Microfine Opaque)
513 Mediterranean (Microfine Opaque)
514 Bavarian Forest (Microfine Opaque)
Dries Clear Adhesive
Ultrafine Metal Tip
Mini Glitter spoons
Sticky Paper A2 card size

Queen Bean was stamped and then colored with Copic Markers and then cut out. The Background Hearts were cut out of Sticky paper using Nestibilities Scalloped Heart, I used the three smallest sizes.
I removed the resist paper and glittered each heart. I used Red Zone for the largest heart, Red Planet for the medium heart and Red Dwarf for the smallest heart. The small heart on the crown was done with dries clear adhesive and Simba. Layer everything together and pop the Queen onto the card.

Alice Bean was also colored with Copic Markers and cut out. The background was done using Sticky Paper already cut to A2 size, I then cut it to 33/4 X 5. Using extra resist paper I punched  flowers 2 large and 3 small. Removing the resist paper from the cut down sticky paper I placed the small flowers don first, then the larger flowers overlapping on some of the small flowers or hanging off the edge. once these were placed I sprinkled Rock Moss over the entire background removed the excess and burnished the glitter, I then removed the large flowers and using a small glitter spoon placed Cayman in the areas, removed the excess and burnished the glitter. I then did the small flowers using Mediterranean in the same manner as above. When all the background is done add stems using Adhesive Dries Clear and Ultrafine Metal Tip then sprinkling with Bavarian Forest glitter.  All that's left is to layer and embellish.

Double Glitter Double The Fun

Hello to all of you who like things that glitter and sparkle. Art Glitter is the perfect medium for all your sparkle needs!

I love card making and so I thought my first post should be a card or two, so today I am posting two of the four cards I made using The Greeting Farm limited addition stamps of the girls from wonderland. I knew they would be fabulous with glitter. The backgrounds were created using Dreamweaver Stencils and the coloring was done with Copic Markers.

I used the following products from Art Glitter:

To start I wanted to use my Art Glitter as a background for my girls. I used the small sticky paper for the big dots and teacups using the Double Glitter Technique.  This is much like the Glitter Lace Technique.

Because I was using stencils for the background I rubbed each of the backs of the stencils with a pure vegetable soap, this is done to make it easier to release the stencil from the paper.

Remove the release paper from your sticky paper and lay the stencil soap side down on the sticky paper, I then run a brayer over the top to make sure there are no areas that the glitter can get under the stencil.

Now comes the fun part ART GLITTER. Using the small spoon from Art Glitter I placed the color into the area I want it and then burnish it with my finger, remove the excess of that color and then move onto the next color.

When doing the tea cups, I taped over the stencil so that I wouldn't get a glitter color in a place I didn't want.  For instance the borders on the orange and gold cup and the stripes on the blue cup.

Once your done putting in the base color you can then remove the tape and put in your accent color.  When I was done with all the cups I used a small piece of Swiffer (dry) to remove the excess glitter from the stencil.

I lay the stencil down on my paper and gently pull the paper from the stencil this keeps the stencil from bending.

Now the final step is to pour Winter White over the entire background and burnish it into the sticky paper. This technique is called double glitter. I did the big dots in exactly the same way using silver for the dots and Purple Passion for the background.

I colored my girls with Copic markers and the using Designer Dries Clear Adhesive with a Ultrafine Metal Tip I added crystal glitter to the flowers on Hatter Beans hat and Purple Passion to Cheshire Beans ears, shoes and hair bows.

I love how the glitter makes them pop! Stay tuned for my next post where I will be using Queen Bean and Alice Bean to complete my set of Wonderland Girls Cards. See you soon and don't forget to add a little Art Glitter to every day.

Georgia Sommers lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her very supportive husband Michael and has two grown daughters, Ashley and Rachel. Georgia has loved crafting since she was a young girl. Her mother was always coming up with some project for her sisters and her to do. Georgia did major in art but did not want to do the starving artist thing, so she became a dental assistant instead. She started teaching Tole and Decorative art which she taught for about 10 years.  When her youngest daughter was two she was introduced to Stampin UP and here card making career began. Georgia’s favorite materials to work with are; Dreamweaver Stencils, Copic Markers and of course Art Glitter.  She loves glitter, sometimes she feels kind of like the dogs in the movie UP except instead of squirrels,  she is drawn to sparkles. Georgia is lucky to be able to teach in some great stores in California and always seem to carry with her some glitter & bling! www.sommrstamping.blogspot.com

Fluttering Into Spring

I just felt the need to create something with a little Spring feel about it and just kept playing around until I came up with this design. Spring is in the air today here in Michigan. Birds are singing and sun is shining. Before you know it the butterflies will be fluttering around the garden.

I just received new colors of Transparent Microfine glitter from Art Glitter and wanted to use them on this project. So here's how I started.

Supplies:

I began by inking my tag so the butterflies would have some background color. Then I sprinkled some water onto the inked tag and waited about 20 seconds then heat set.

I originally had intended to cut the butterflies and use disconnected from the background tag, but once the images had been cut into the tag I liked the way they look and they could be propped up a bit.

To create texture and dimension on the tag I inked the large background stamp from Papillon CMS106 from Stamper's Anonymous and folded the butterflies forward (this way, they were not stamped) then stamped the tag background. I inked several different butterfly stamps and stamped onto the butterfly images. I used Coffee Archival Ink for this part so the lines would show slightly beneath the glitter when it is applied.

Then I used my paintbrush technique to paint the DDC onto each butterfly wing - one at a time - and then sprinkled with the glitter. The DDC dries very quickly when applied in this manner so work in small areas at a time.

I alternated the glitter colors among the butterflies and used Rose Bud Fine Vintage Glass Glitter on the butterfly bodies in the center of each.

It seemed a bit flat to me when I finished so decided to add a pop of gold. I used the Gold Metal Leaf for this. I squeezed a very small amount of DDC onto my non-stick craft sheet and smudged it on my finger and then smudged it onto the tag. I pressed the Gold Metal Leaf into the smudged DDC and let it set for a minute to dry, then brushed away any loose particles.

To finish it off I added the stamped sentiment and a pretty ribbon.
