Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays because it is filled with hearts! Hearts are one of my favorites! Today I wanted to decorate my best friend's mantle, so I made some heart garland.
Products Used:
Red Cardstock
A heart shaped punch or die cut
Sewing Machine
Thread
I will start by saying, I have never sewn on paper before and it was much easier than I thought.
I started by cutting out a bunch of hearts out of the cardstock. I used my Cricut Expression and a cartridge with hearts. I ended up cutting about 40 hearts but did not use them all.
I then took the hearts to the sewing machine. After the thread and bobbin were ready, I sewed across the first heart. I pulled the heart off the the side at the edge of the machine so that each heart would be equally spaced apart from the other.
I continued adding hearts until I had as many as I needed.
I then took the long string of hearts to the other room where I added a thin layer of Designer Dries Clear Adhesive to one side of each heart, then added #360 Pretty Pink Transparent Glitter to it. I did this to each of the hearts.
After I shook off all the glitter, I strung the hearts across the mantle.
I love how the glitter turned the red hearts pink. It is transparent, but it has the red/pink hue to it.
I hope you enjoyed this pretty and yet simple project to add some sparkle and hearts to your Valentine's Day! Now be sure to stop by my blog one.heart.scrapper. to see another glittery Valentine's Day Project!
